Wake Boats
Wake boats are welcome on Herrington Lake, however we ask that you DO NOT fill the ballast. Certain parts of the lake can and do sustain damage from wakes, including private docks. The soil erosion that occurs with uncontrolled wakes is also hazardous. Our phosphorus-rich soil eroding into Herrington is of concern to the ongoing health of our ecology. Please follow all No-Wake Zones.

Fishing on Herrington is a great time! Whether a skilled angler, or a first-timer, we have some great fishing to offer. Crappie, Bluegill, Hybrid Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Catfish. Anglers have been finding joy on this lake since 1925!

Water Skiing/Tubing
Herrington is always open to swimming, however, there are no publicly available access points at this time. The only access for swimming is through either private property or boat. No trespassing allowed. You can rent watercraft from almost all of the marinas on the lake.

Skiing and tubing are always welcome on Herrington, it's part of the summer fun! We ask that you follow the "rules of the road", using proper boating and wake etiquette, as well as keep to the Wake Zones only.
Kayak & Board
Kayaks and small vessels and activities are always welcome at Herrington. You are permitted anywhere on the lake, however you may find the most enjoyment around the most northern (Cane Run, Royalty's, and Rocky Fork) and southern boundaries (Gwinn Island, Dunn Island, Bryant's Camp).
